Balance and Discipline

Been thinking and struggling with balance recently. No my legs havent given way and no I'm not writing this consumed with to much alcohol! But as many of you know I have recently moved backed to Northern Ireland from Scotland to study theology at Source and join the staff team at Christian fellowship church as a youthworker, sharing an office with 4 other creative dudes including my sister! But trying to fit back into to life, building new friendship creating new projects, studying Im just trying to make sure I get the balance right! Ive have recently joined a local Gym of which Ive to get to yet! But i felt the need to loose some weight and excercise the muscle that is my heart! So all these things are adding to my little diary, as well as the challenge of making sure time with God is priority and hearing his voice, and soaking in his presence. Balance and discipline I think are the key... but procrasination and laziness at time set in. As well as late night films( they seem good at the time!) Anyhows my challenge is balance, getting in routine and being habitutal about organising my life!
Ill post more on this let you know how im getting on! PS. Helpful comments are always welcome!
( currently reading Celebration of discipline... as well as classes from brother monk)

Delirious!

Off to see delirious tonight with about 15 others from the cfc youth department!
I have seen these guys countless times over the last number of years, but I always come away inspired and motivated to see more of Christ in my life, and a desire to be a blessing through my ministry to people just as these guys have. Some would say they compromise too much, others they are past their best, but these guys have been part of a God planned revolution to inspire and motivate new generations in worship and in living a life sold out for Jesus! To stand firm on the promises of God in world thats everchanging!
Getting quite excited writing this now! Will blog later let you know how it went!
Ok really to need get ready and do some greek!
Keep err lit!

Quotes that move the mind

Found these on Starbucks website, in the States they have all these quotes on their mugs!
These were my pic of the best (out of hundreds)
check them out www.starbucks.com

The Way I See It #92"You are not an accident. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did. He wanted you alive and created you for a purpose. Focusing on yourself will never reveal your purpose. You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. Only in God do we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny." -- Dr. Rick WarrenAuthor of The Purpose-Driven Life.
(How good is this, Rick Warrens book is quoted on starbucks mugs! mental)

The Way I See It #80"Anger is a vital life force. Channeled artistically or non-destructively, it has the power to move worlds." -- Alanis Morissette

The world is smaller than you think, and the people on it are more beautiful than you think.
-- Bertram van MunsterEmmy® Award–winning executive producer/director.

Be exceptional. Make tremendous efforts to be extraordinary. What a privilege to be here on the planet to contribute your unique donation to humankind. Just make sure you do so...." -- Shelby LynneMusician. Her songs can be heard on Starbucks Hear Music™ station, XM Satellite Radio Channel 75

Life is a school for angels. Love is the Teacher, so do your homework without fear. Death is merely graduation.
-- Jeffrey KuehlStarbucks customer from Wilmette, Illinois.

Seven million innocent European Jews were killed in the 1940s, and we rightly called it The Holocaust. Eleven million innocent Africans have died of AIDS so far this decade because they were unable to get the drugs that would save their lives. What do we call that?
-- Rob GlaserCEO of RealNetworks and founder of the Glaser Progress Foundation.

Change the world, but be careful how you change with it.
-- Brandi CarlileMusician. Her songs can be heard on Starbucks Hear Music™ station, XM Satellite Radio Channel 75

Big things start small. Rather than getting overwhelmed with the thought of changing the world, there are small steps we can all take in our own lives and communities that can have a real impact. Music is just one way of making change. What will you choose?

Improvisers don’t look at change as an obstacle; we look at it as fuel. We know that the next great idea lies just on the other side of the change. We are constantly asking ourselves, “What can I do to incite change?” Well?

PIMP MY JOELS PLACE

Last night was one of our first sessions with the project formerly known as Joels Place. Mark and Myself and a great bunch of leaders set up a wee session called pimp my joels place, where young people in the area came together to give their views on what type of things they would like to see happen for young people in the area. Xbox's, group work, Free Ice Cream, 20 mins of the Northern Ireland footie match and loads of pool formed in the end a great night
I must admit i was a bit nervous first night loads of leaders, I was praying that at least 3/4 young people would turn up. God is great over 20 young people turned up and really got involved responded really well to the activities! The leaders were great getting stuck in and using the session to connect and engage with the young people through the various activities! Overall a great first session, lets pray that God will continue to use and grow this ministry!
Thanks to all the leaders who helped, Including Mark and Vic, awesome guys!
